| subject: | Oh My! (`Oh, My` Indeed |
TR>TR>Yesterday I had surgery on my left eye. The results are uttely TR>TR>amazing! Within a couple of minutes, I could see better than I'd TR>TR>ever seen in my entire life. My eyesight must have always been bad TR>TR>from birth. TR>TR>The clarity is astounding! I see colors as they really are, sharp TR>TR>and clear. I realize that cops really `can' read a license plate TR>TR>from a long distance, and its not just dumb-ass luck they happen TR>TR>to pull a car over that had an expired one! TR>TR>I can't wait for the other eye to be taken care of! TR>JB>Laser surgery ? TR>No. The natural lense was removed, a new lense put in its place, and TR>the tiny incision sutured. The difference was immediate. TR>The laser surgery you refer to is a procedure that wouldn't have TR>helped me any. A cataract is a tiny hole in the lense itself, a TR>common situation with people over fifty. One cataract might not TR>bother a person too much, might not even show up in an eye exam. They TR>don't have to change their glasses but amybe once every four or five TR>years (normal for older people who wear glasses). TR>But a person with serious cataracts (like me) starts having to change TR>their prescription quite often. In my case, since I drive for a TR>living I get an eye test every year. And the last four or five years, TR>I've had to change prescriptions every year (a $400 or more expense TR>anymore). TR>An optomitrist suspected cataracts, and gave me a test for it. He was TR>right. TR>I wish I could get a `before' and `after' photo of the difference TR>between the eye I just had worked on and the eye yet to be worked on. TR>The contrasting images would amaze you! The new one crystal clear, TR>unblemished, the colors sharp and vivid.....the one still to be TR>worked on blurred, fuzzy, color changes dingy-looking, melting one TR>into the other, detail of small things like scratches, or dents go TR>unseen. Well congratulations on the surgery and outcome. You were able to get it before the Dems finish their destruction of the US medical system.
