Actually, I was discussing this in reference to the x2 and v.90 upgrades
-- specifically the x2 upgrade which some have claimed was reported as a
free upgrade and then USR turned around and said they had to pay $60 to
get it. I'm also talking specifically about those individuals with
modems that DID, in fact, qualify for the free upgrades. I'm talking
about Courier class, not Sportster here.
I followed USR's instructions and got my free upgrade(s). Those that
didn't follow the instructions apparently wound up having to pay for it.
Most of the problems in this regard stem from the individual not paying
attention to what's in the fine print (procedures) or just plain waiting
too long to take action.
If you reacted in a timely manner and followed all the instructions, the
upgrade was easy... and free as claimed.
