They've discovered that seratonin has an effect on the retina - but they
don't know what the result is. They were looking for clock mechanisms, and
were suprised to find that there is one in the retina and it is affected by
seratonin. They can only speculate as to the purpose of the clock or what
seratonin does to your eyes.
