DW¯ ROTF!
DW¯ I have to admit to being a fighter fan, but there is
DW¯ something utterly facinating about the B-36.
Yeah... I know, I feel the same way about them. Some of my
earliest memories are seeing B-36s "buzzing the Valley" between
Castle AFB and Beale AFB in the San Joaquin Valley here in
California. I live in Stockton Ca, and can remember seeing B-36
bombers flying LOW over my house almost every day for quite a while.
Sometimes they'd have a fighter or two tagging along with them...
DW¯ One minor mistake though. When SAC was flying B-36s, the
DW¯ F-102 was used exclusively by the old Air Defense Command (ADC).
DW¯ TAC didn't take over the fighter-intercept mission until the ADC
DW¯ was disbanded in '78.
Well, it's not my story, I just forwarded from the Fido "Funny"
Echo. Besides, too many facts can ruin an otherwise good story...
DW¯ Still...I'm saving this one and forwarding to a buddy of
DW¯ mine. He'll get a supreme kick out of this!
I'm glad you liked it!!!
