            I've been wondering WTF you were on about when you said
that VB is slow. It always seemed to run okay for me.

  VB is weird!

  On my old 386, my VB version of pkt2qwk is 4-times faster than the C
version. On the 486, VB-pkt2qwk runs a litle faster... but the C
version runs like lightning!

  What would possibly cause that? [amazed look]

  I was getting 40mS a message on the 386, and the fast 486 does it in
30mS, but the C version runs so fast that you need a delay so you can
read the message on the screen. The C version seems to have sped up
about 10-times.
