Hi Sean,
That's to UpDate my post titled "Kermit on TeleGard" of October 20:
SD> ...internal variables... ...happy to send you MCI.REF...
MS> ...time to get a glimpse... ...stay tuned for more UpDates!...
Judging from the .PDF examples i've been able to locate so far, the
longest command is fifty-two characters long. I can't tell what happens
beyond fifty-two characters but there must be a limit to the length? My
`MSK.INI' command-line structure is a length vs versatility trade-off, i
had to make these ones longer since ~COM~ ports require the speed setup:
_________________________________________________[ Debug Command Line ]_
PROTOCOL Kermit Terminal
UPLOAD MSK Set Port COM~CP, Set Speed ~CA, Take MSK.INI, Stay
DOWNLOAD MSK Set Port COM~CP, Set Speed ~CA, Take MSK.INI, Stay
In my example, the total length is fifty-four characters (the left-
margin description not being included). I guess you know where to get a
copy of my .INI' but i recommend the version from my post of October 10,
in the `FdN_SearchLight' area. This link leads to a cleaned up version:

No transfers are supported, at this stage the goal is to let SysOps
explore from the `Kermit' command-line. What i need to know, right now,
is: 1) how long the command-line can be in a .PDF; 2) can the internal
variables (such as "~CP", "~CA", "~CF", etc.)
be read as DOS environment
variables; 3) how much memory `MS-Kermit' and `C-Kermit' are using. To
read DOS environment variables, type the "Push" `Kermit' command - which
takes you to the DOS (or "console"?) command-line; measuring the memory
used up by `Kermit' is easy from there too: you'd type "Mem" instead of
"Set" under `OS/2', i guess. To exit `Kermit' simply type:
"Exit". It
helps to try "Show" at the `Kermit' command-line and go from there; i'd
make certain `Kermit' finds my .INI, "Set Flow" may need revision too...
When at the `Kermit' command-line you can type "Connect" to go into
terminal mode and watch what's happening at the other end, "Serve" would
be usefull if you have a ~TelNet~ client connected in another window and
you'd like to try basic `Kermit' commands from there ("Send",
"Receive",
"Finish")... I hope that's enough information to play with `Kermit', it
is all that comes to me for now (i looked at the other .PDF fields and i
think you can deal with the rest). If fifty-four characters is too long
we'll need to imagine an alternative, keep me informed of your progress!
Salutations, ;^)
