| subject: | MS-Kermit on TeleGard/2 |
Hi Scott,
About "Kermit on TeleGard" of December 17 and "Nice
return!" of
January 14:
SA> TG allows PDFs aka Protocol Definition Files... Its that easy.
MS> ...if i could cut the testing phase by doing the preliminaries...
SA> Not sure you can't do it yourself?
[...]
MS> ...welcome back... ...i can't but dream of the day when `ZMoDem'
MS> and `Kermit' can be evaluated side by side... I DownLoaded
MS> `TeleGard/2' in hope i'd be able to test it in a local ~TelNet~
MS> setup, eventually, but i can't even get it to install. Once it runs
MS> i'll be able to figure out a `Kermit' setup - perhaps later...
SA> Can't get it to work is vague. Can you be more specific?
I'm sorry for making you wait for so long but the ChristMass frenzy
got me pretty busy this year, like many other BBSers i guess! At 1st, i
was just kept away from my favourite hobby but then it's as if i've been
abducted by aliens or something... In any case, it turns out that quite
a few events took place in the meantime and both my local ~TelNet~ setup
and my `TG/DOS' install worked well enough to submit a `Kermit.PDF' file
on January 15 (and hence this `Kermit' configuration is now on the Net)!
As for details, i mentioned my local ~TelNet~ testing would involve
`CKOKer16.EXE 5A(189)' as an external File-Transfer Protocol-Driver (for
a W32-DOS Console-Box environment which is based on ~FOSSIL~ and limited
`OS/2' support) - the alternative being to have an `OS/2' emulation done
with the help of `VMWare', if it's possible on a 933 Mhz machine at all.
I also wrote about specific `Kermit.PDF' fields such as `FileList',
`Log_File', `Log_Result', `TempLog', `DLCode1' and `ULCode1', i believe;
as my `Kermit' cps figure (5K3) showed on that day, i finally managed to
install `TG/DOS' - it was only a matter of handling the unusual package.
%-b,
SA> Watch it, that evil moderator has that rule...
MS> ...let him ask 1st!
SA> Yep Scott Adams TG_Sup Echo Moderator
MS> You too? I thought there was only one moderator around, my mistake!
SA> Yeah... That moderator (me) tends to have a double personality.
I've met moderators who make themselves more obvious than others...
Salutations, 8-)
