Weintraub never tested phentermine and dexfenfluramine. He conducted 2
studies on phen/fen, one on sibutramine. I threw in the Acutrim one
for giggles.
Long-term weight control: the National Heart, Lung, and Blood
Institute funded multimodal intervention study Clin Pharmacol Ther
1992 May;51(5):581-585 (This is the famous phen/fen study).
Sibutramine in weight control: a dose-ranging, efficacy study. Clin
Pharmacol Ther 1991 Sep;50(3):330-337
Phenylpropanolamine OROS (Acutrim) vs. placebo in combination with
caloric restriction and physician-managed behavior modification. Clin
Pharmacol Ther 1986 May;39(5):501-509 (this was on Acutrim)
A double-blind clinical trial in weight control. Use of fenfluramine
and phentermine alone and in combination. Arch Intern Med 1984
Jun;144(6):1143-1148

That shouldn't make any difference when you're doing a clinical trial.
Sibutramine wasn't (and still isn't) available here, but Weintraub did
a clinical study on it in 1991.
You're the same guy that jumped all over my case over St. John's Wort,
right?

Actually there is data on prozac and weight loss. Three clinical
studies in the early 90s. Said it didn't do shit, at least on its own.
MediEdPres? I hope you're not publishing your opinions.
