About Fidonews controversy, On Tue Oct 24 2006

GH> and the FidoNews file echo only."

SH> As much as I think Vlist is a jerk, why should he not have been able
SH> to claim copyright in his article? He wrote it, did he not?

Yes he can by all means,my wife does so all the time she is a columnist for
two local newspapers.

GH> painting, etc cannot be redone and claimed as ones own, as that is
GH> plagiarism. Mind you you may know more about that than I do.

SH> There's a bit more to it than that but where was the furore? I saw
SH> nothing until I got Ward's netmail.

The entire snooze was deleted from the archive because of the copyright
notice, which was taken out of context, which my
understanding is go ahead and distribute the snooze complete but do not
reprint the article by Michiel.

SH> I'm a bit surprised about Shannon being there and the name Frank

He is moderator of record of FIDONEWS, the present editor I figger is not
doing his job adequately in getting content much less moderating the echo
at all.

SH> Scheidt means nothing to me. But are they worse than Bob "the germ"
SH> Germer, Bob Hirschfeld or Marcel Bendshadler were and each of those
SH> were moderators.

I recall those two as tame compared to what is going on now.

GH> One cannot have an argument with one participant.
SH> But why does one have to argue. Can't one simply discuss?

One can discuss, and a good discussion is what I like to get into, at
times, however these folks get into Zone wars and personal attacks, which
in anyone's book is unacceptable, at least mine.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted.

We are a fine board trying to make it better.
