Yes, that is scarey ..... I had a beautiful Quarter Horse (named "Baby")
who was diagnosed with EPM a few years ago. First of all it took several
months before she was correctly diagnosed ..... then I treated her for months
and MONTHS -- she never did fully recover and had several relapses -- of
which we treated her again and again.
I rode her when she was feeling good -- just petted and groomed her when
she was doing poorly ...... Last February (1996) I rode her in our annual
parade here in LaBelle -- that was the last time I was able to ride her
...... she passed away in June last year from colic.
I truely loved this horse -- she was my favorite -- I still get teary
eyed thinking about her. She was absolutely beautiful .... she stood 16.1
hands tall and had all 9 points of a Dun ...... her bloodlines were HOLLYWOOD
GOLD.
I have other horses - which I love - but none of them compare to "Baby"
.
