I loved the food there too and ate at the Monorail Cafe many times on the
two week-long visits I've had to Disneyland. I always imagined the cafe
was up on the 2nd floor, though, to better view the monorail -- and that
it would also be closer to the monorail station. Where it is now, it
really should be called the Tram Cafe! ;-)

Sorry, but that is true. It will be torn down, as well as the Disneyland
Hotel's bungalows (which were the original rooms at the hotel) and the
meeting/convention rooms, too. It's all part of the redevelopment going
on for California Adventure as well as the Pleasure Island-like area
that's coming to that part of the resort.
