THC>Define "producing it". Do you honestly think these people are going to

Thats where you and I are very different. IF I had an encounter like
some of the folks describe and if afterwards I noted a lump in my body,
I'd be knocking down the doors of every lab in town trying to find out
what it is. The same is true for ANY unresolved questions about my
life. I want to KNOW what goes on in my life. You wouldn't have to come
to me, I'd go to you if I thought you had an explanation.
"...to each and every skeptic who questions them?". Certainly not, but
if someone did question it, he'd have an opportunity to help me explain
it. Somebody somewhere would have the answer and I'd find it.
THC> RT> Nahhhh... just curiosity seekers. I have to believe that if a story

THC>But would any of these people be the so-called "skeptics" who'd been

Sure. Skeptics, believers, and those that had never considered the
question. There would probably be equal numbers of all of them. I know
that I'd certainly be there .
THC> RT> I don't know what "angel hair" is or how it is related to UFO's. Is

I don't know anything about "angel hair".... that would seem to be a
good place to start for someone looking for physical evidence of ET.
Again, it is truly a convenience for the believers that it completely
disappears very shortly after being found... nothing to test.
As for spider webs in the woods, I do have a bit of experience there. It
would not be unusual at all to cross a clearing once then again and on
the second trip, notice webs that weren't there before. First, those
little grass spiders can and DO spin their webs very quickly at certain
times of the day. Second, they are very fine and unnoticable until the
dew "falls". Then they shine under any kind of light... especially
flashlights in the dark.
Not discounting your experience as ordinary spiders at work, but I have
no problem believing it was... been there many times. I have to admit
that I've never experienced them disappearing spontaneously in a sealed
container, but the wind will certainly blow them away very quickly.
THC>So, you're saying that what it would take to convince you is enough other
   >people already being convinced?
Sort of. I would accept the conclusion of a respected body of
government, science, or education. Otherwise all the fans at the
Super Bowl could proclaim that an alien spaceship landed on the fifty
yard line and _without_authoritative_support_, I'd be skeptical.
THC>Besides, the USAF announced that they'd recovered a flying saucer way
back
   >1947...
From what I've read and heard about Roswell, one man announced that
they'd recovered a flying saucer. Albeit in an official capacity, there
is no reason to disbelieve that he was also swept up in the flying
saucer craze of the day. Having spent my four year hitch in the Air
Force, I'm well aware that there are self serving publicity seekers as
well as out and out kooks at all levels of the military. Wearing the
uniform and having a few pieces of brass on his collar didn't make him
an authority on flying saucers. At that point in his career, it doesn't
appear that he was representing the consensus of the military opinion.
If nothing else, Roswell proves that officials should always keep their
mouths shut until they know what they are talking about. The Roswell
incident, IF NOT TRULY AN ALIEN ENCOUNTER, shows how one piece of
uninformed publicity can take fifty years to live down.
