I am not much of a believer in SVHS but JVCs' new Digital -s is actually 
quite good I could pick out artifacts at 10 generations but i doubt if very 
many others could. It uses 3.3:1 compression (Panasonics DVC-Pro is 5:1)
so its more than digital betacam but for 20k who can complain. You know NAB 
you kind of walk around going "oh my god" I thought sonys idea about the 
future of television was quite a statement about it isn't about this one new 
box today but rather a system digital solution. What did you think of the 
sony Van the only component serial digital system in the world, all for a 
cool 5.5 million. I am interested in hearing all opinions on nab though. I 
didn't see the "one thing that set us on our ear" though, just an evolution 
of whats going on now.
