KIT BALLANTINE was saying to BRUCE METCALF...
>>BM> I suppose it was just the jaundiced age I was when they opened "Inner
>>BM> Space", but the overdramatic soundtrack was just a little too much
>>BM> for me to suspend disbelief and enjoy. I did have a few visit where
>>BM> I found the contents of my wallet had shrunk while I was at the
>>BM> Park--perhaps it was IS that did it!

>KB> I find it very easy to suspend belief and get into the disnisical mode
>KB> for an adventure, be it a movie or a ride at Disneyland. So, what I
>KB> remember is actually being shrunk down to a molecue in "Inner Space"
>KB> and actually travelling under the North Pole in the submarines. I grew
>KB> up in Southern California and went to Disneyland at least once or
>KB> twice a year since my birth. It helps that I first experienced many of
>KB> these things as a very young child. As I got older I was still able to
>KB> connect to the wonderment of being on those rides as a small kid and
>KB> that bound me to those rides with a great affection for the rest of my
>KB> life.
Hi ho! Kit, couldn't help but agree with your statement. Although being from
Pennsylvania and only have gotten to DL twice in my life, the first time was
as a child. The magical memories and wonderment never left me, and when I
went back to DL as a young adult, it clicked again for me. Now that I and my
wife go to WDW, we easily find contentment in that magical place! You have to
'let go' of your worries and such and just relax and become a child again!
I'm glad that the Disney Imagineers are finally updating Tomorrowland for
today's tastes as that was my biggest disappointment as an adult. When I was
a child, Tomorrowland was right on target! I think it's a good idea to turn
it into a sort of H G Wells vision of the future. That'll never be outdated!
