Your comment is justifiably repeated a lot the last 5 years. It's
dead. It's not a shame at all.

It's the same in every USENET newsgroup that's local and isn't about a
global topic and isn't about swapping filez or warez.

A group is formed, then quickly dominated by a "Lord of the Flies"
style holier-than-thou clique royalty who run off everyone else
because it is "their" group, full of hazings for newcomers and soft
circle strokes rewards for regulars. Kinda like High School all over
again for the short bus crowd.

Then when ISPs started dumping free access to newsgroups, these Netcop
Barney Fife bloodsucking high and mighty types were either too dead
(!) or too poor or too stupid to figure out alternate access. Only
proves how cheap was their talk. Without an invisible audience
applauding their every comment, cliques move on to poison other
avenues. :-)

My advice would be to either go Google groups or just find something
out "there" on the web.

If you are curious, checkout the Google stats for this group and you
can see how the Bell curve of postings peaked at 2001 and now the
current abandoned level is pretty much the same as when it first
started. Yepper, it's dead and gone for good. Enjoy!
