I remember a good article about this but sorry to say I can't locate it. 
Short term memory loss?  Anyway, as I recall the main argument was that the
Weintraub studies had considerable experience in the phen/fen combination
but that there was little or no experience with phen/dex.  I think the
reason given for that is that dex had only been available abroad and that
phen was not available there (but this is where I may be wrong in
recollection).  In any event, there is not much experience with this
combination, either from a safety or effectiveness point of view.  However
I did notice that one of the major weight loss chains has switched to a
phen/prozac approach and it would seem there would not be much data there
either.  An interesting comment by one of the physicians was that this
change seemed more of a business driven change than a science driven change.
