I would avoid all those extra steps if you can.

Those files are per-user. You probably would prefer to use the data/subs/*.ini
file and add a section for your export pointers in there (similar to how
SBBSecho and other tools do it).

I'm using MSVC++ 2019 these days. You might still be able to use VS2013. It's
much easier just to use the binaries that I build daily.
