-> It was probably layena crumbles. There is also a wild game bird
-> crumble. Both are a better diet than just sorgum or corn. A 20# bag
-> is only about $7.00.
I'll have to look into that at the feed store... This poor lil fellow
would NEVER manage to eat 20 pounds worth.
-> They were probably hungry. There hasn't been as much food available
-> this year due to the drought.
It certainly HAS been dry... We almost washed away last night. Like my
old black-sheep uncle once said, (He was farming dry-land cotton) "I'll
take a six inch rain today, and an inch and a half a day until it
dries up!"
-> It shouldn't be too hard to find a female and they only cost about
-> $6.
HOW do you tell which is which? I never could. I hear all sorts of
wives tales but none that I'd bet six dollars on! I can get
another one simply by going back over there and asking. She offered a
companion bird if I wanted one.
-> The ones that I saw today were that price. They are soothing
-> birds to be around.
I find them so. I loved my Amazons but they WERE a tad loud sometimes.
-> Enjoy your dove.
Oh, I am. I was sick yesterday and his quiet cooing made me feel ever
so much better. (He thought it was an awful short day since I didn't
leave his light on much.)
