subject: Ken Petera, 19 years later, doesn`t get it.

Message-ID:

Geez, Ken Petera 19 years later when asked about the vicious attack against
police officers, he whines about being screwed over by the system...yeah WHO
THE FREAKIN' HECK WAS THE ONE WHO BEAT THOSE OFFICERS??? Geez, maybe he
didn't spend ENOUGH TIME in jail.

-------------
It has been 19 years since the arrest and convictions of professional
wrestlers Ken Patera and Masa Saito over a violent brawl with Wisconsin
police officers following the vandazation of a McDonalds restaurant that
refused to serve them. The incident was recounted in the Saturday edition of
Wisconsin newspaper The Waukesha Freeman.

On April 6, 1984 Patera and Saito, then working for the now-defunct AWA,
were refused service from a McDonalds after performing on a show.

Patera (a former champion shotputter) threw a 30 pound rock through the
front window. When police officers John Dillon and Jacalyn Hibbard responded
to the call and confronted the wrestlers at their hotel room, a violent
beating took place which left both officers with major injuries.

According to the story, Saito claimed that Patera wasn't present. Then,
Patera attacked the officers with Hibbard receiving a massive beating.
Dillon later recounted that the wrestlers "could have killed us if they
really wanted to." It took additional officers to stop the beating.

"When I talk about what happened, I still shake," said Dillon, now a labor
negotiator for the Wisconsin Professional Police Association. It was months
before he could get through a day on the force without the incident being
mentioned.

His partner, Hibbard, was hospitalized and later returned to the force
before quitting. Although she was admitted to the hospital three times in
the weeks after the attack, and suffered blurred vision in her left side and
broken teeth, she refused to discuss the incident with the newspaper.

"It’s amazing the absolutely strange thoughts that go through your mind,"
Dillon told the newspaper. "Saito tackled me and drove his shoulder below my
knee. I knew he was trying to snap my leg in half. Then I was pummeled by
Ken Patera. They threw me around like a rag doll."

Another officer who responded to the scene, Wayne Dussault, still bares a
scar on his ear from the incident. In the end, eight officers and two sets
of handcuffs were necessary to control Saito.

Although Saito, now residing in Japan where he continues to work in the
wrestling industry, was unable to be contacted by the newspaper, Patera
angrily responded to the reporter when called for comment.

"What kind of s--- are you trying to start?" Patera, now 60 said.
"I’m not
in the mood to talk about being railroaded by a sleaze-ball judge and
district attorney, and a bunch of old jurors who took my professional career
and turned it to s---."
