You are right ! That's precisely what we wants to have !
Greater resolution goes with greater screen.
Use 640x480 with 14" monitors
Use 800x600 with 15" monitors
Use 1024x768 with 17" monitors
JM> hence smaller and harder to read (with higher resolutions).
If you have difficulties to read a computer screen at high resolution,
let this screen at low resolution. If you design your program the
redimension automatically, you'll be very annoying for normal peoples
which use greater resolution (probably with greater monitor) to view
MORE on their screen.
Are you new to Windows ?
FP>> You have to design your program for the standard resolution (640x480)
JM> Well, what is the "standard" resolution?
The one that is supported by all hardware and which is default when
you install the OS.
JM> I don't know anyonethat uses 640x480 - all use 800x600 or
JM> higher normally.
If they use 800x600 it is to see more than at 640x480. I fyou makes
programs which always use the whole screen, you are on the wrong way !
FP>> and handle the Resize event then resize everything on the window.
JM> Couldn't Delphi be designed to handle that for us?
As I try to explain (and other too in this conference), it is not a
desired behaviour so nor Delphi nor Windows will do it for you !
