Hi David...
Just dropping in for a minutes.....
DH> This is going to both FORLE, and to the CC list.
DH> Folks, I ma beginning to have some real conflicting thoughts regarding
DH> the elections coming up next year, and in 2000. Not a day goes by that
I had the same problem with the last presidential election. I couldn't
vote for Clinton, and didn't want to vote for Dole.
DH> I don't get riled at the things which are coming out of Washington,
DH> things which are supported by the Republicans as well as the Democrats.
DH> My dilemma is simple, I am more and more identifying with those of the
DH> libertarian persuasion, but I don't realistically see anyone other than
DH> one of the two major parties getting into the White House, or into any
DH> of the Congressional seats that represent me. This being the case, my
DH> vote for a third party could very well put a Liberal Democrat into
DH> office, and that would, in my opinion, be disastrous! I am aware that
Exactly, and that is why I voted for Dole. However, I am not sure I
will vote for the Republican candidate this time. I will wait and
see who they run this time. As of now, I don't see anybody I like.
DH> this is a bit early for this to come up, but with the campaigns
DH> starting up after the first of the year, this sort of question needs to
DH> be answered. Just this morning, Ralph Reed was on Fox News Sunday,
DH> plugging tax credits for attending private schools. The only thing I
DH> could think about was that the discussion should have been, why the
DH> Feds are even involved in local education. Education is, or should be,
DH> a local issue. The State and Federal Governments have no business
DH> getting involved, and yet our supposedly conservative Republicans seem
DH> to like Federal control of the local issues.
