Instead, I'll tell you my Debug story (a triumph!). Almost ten years ago, I was doing a project for a company. There was another guy who had written a comms app to connect a customer to the company computer using a dial-up modem. The company made money from services they sold to customers, not the software. So, they took a bit of trouble getting everything just how people wanted it. One day I got a phone call from one of their people who was trying to install the other guy's comms program at a site. The problem was that this site needed pulse dialing, and the other guy assumed tone only (and the other guy was not available). I knew the person calling me was quite clever, although totally nontechnical. Anyway, I got them (over the phone!) to use Debug to search the exe file for "ATDT" and replace it with "ATDP". There was shocked amazement when this worked!
