MT> An Orange County judge ruled that a lawsuit by Billie Jean
MT> Matay, a former Mouseketeer, whose family was robbed of $1,650 in
MT> the parking lot at Disneyland in 1995, could go ahead with her suit.
MT> In it, Matay chages that her three grandchildren, aged 5 to 11, were
MT> traumatized by being taken away after the robbery to a backstage
MT> area whre Disney characters removed their costumes.
MT> Disney lawyers contended that there was noting traumatic
MT> about a "cartoon character taking off a cartoon character costume."
MT> But Matay's lawyers argued that Disneyland had to protect children
MT> from emotional distress -- such as that caused by seeing Mickey
MT> Mouse headless.
Probably the same woman that sued McDonalds after spilling coffee in her
own lap and finding out that hot coffee meant that it was above
freezing. Some people will sue over anything. Probably end up getting a
lawsuit over this post :)
