I think you're re-fighting the last war here. The idea of Fidonet software
as restricted to a serial-port world is overlimiting and outdated.
Personally, I think developers should encourage and assist anyone who wants
to diversify and expand the horizons of Fidonet software. I am definitely
SURE that such people should not be subjected to active discouragement.
