Hi, SHauna!
SC> I got it today! It's gorgeous and it does sparkle! Thank you for
SC> the beautiful Friendship Star block. You have a natural talent for
SC> putting the right fabrics together :)
Thanks, Shauna. I'm so glad you like it. Of the
several I've made recently, yours was my favorite. :)
SC> Also have to thank you for the basket block (with butterflies on it)
Hee-hee! ;)
SC> Like I was telling Pat, it will be at
SC> least next year before I start any of my exchange block quilts, so
SC> I'm just going to enjoy playing with them :)
Oh, do enjoy! I *still* haven't put together the Jack-in-the-Box
blocks I won over a year & a half ago: waiting for inspiration, I
guess. And all the mini stars I received are still half-finished
(except yours: still have to decide on a fabric for the large points.)
I'm still debating which kind of stars I want as the alternate blocks.
SC> KO> I still haven't decided what to do about
SC> KO> borders: I'm debating between a Seminole-type or a border of minis.
SC> I, too, have this problem with my Triple Irish Chain. Have no real
SC> great border ideas yet but they may hit me when I'm least expecting
SC> them :) I really would love to see your quilt.
If & when I finish it, I'll be sure to send you a photo. I'm leaning
toward the mini-block border. It's called Samurai Fan. I'll do 4"
blocks for one of the borders & maybe alternate the way the fans are
set: 1 up, 1 down, with smaller fans pieced for the corners- maybe...
SC> Kathy, you must be so organized.
That's an illusion, believe me! :) In some ways I can be, but in
others... well, there's always room for improvement! As far as sewing
& general creativity go, I know how much time I have to get things
done & *try* to make the best use of it. However, the best-laid plans
of mice & men.... you know the rest. Happy therapy! - Kathy
