That's just the problem. Most people don't realise that you don't
have to re-install OS/2 to fix up screwed up ini files.

I destroyed my ini files once. I rebooted off floppy and ran a
program that recreated the ini files. I can't remember the name of
the program as I haven't had to use it since then.

If you're really interested I'll find the program name for you.

I notice Bill has mentioned makeini.exe. That was it.

I know you didn't ask me this question but I'll answer anyway. I've
done it twice. The second time was done to change the boot drive over
from FAT to HPFS. Then I restored everything back to where it was
anyway, I just had a better file system.

It's a good ad, isn't it? :-)

BL> But the best part of the joke is that OS/2 doesn't *do* anything.
BL> You still have to load Windows (or use a DOS wordprocessor

I use AmiPro for OS/2. The only Windows program I still use is the
Groliers Encyclopaedia. The only DOS program I still use is the one that
came with my ancient hand scanner.

I use the Watcom PM IDE for my programming. No command line in
sight.
