Quite so. I have a more serious problem however.

I do not know the meaning of 'etc' in this context. Is 1199 acceptable? -2?
3.1415? Is there an upper limit? How about 10^100?
In order to be useful for a programmer it must clearly state the
limitations. Something like:
This field contains the maximum bit rate supported
by the node when using its fastest protocol under optimum
conditions. The value in this field must be numeric and
represent a whole decimal number in the range 1 - 999999.
If no upper limit is supplied we will run into one of those
"unbounded" discussions again. If the intention really is no
upper limit, then it should explicitly state so.
