Hello Bob,

Have you ever looked to my homepage (http://www.snafu.de/~pbsound/) or
to Dave Navarro's privat project called 'Basic Guru' (www.basicguru.com)?

That's a lousy joke Bob, or?

What do you need Bob, you think I have no license numbers ??? I have
noproblems to tell you the serial numbers of all the products of
PowerBASIC,I have: PB10016073, PB3000041250, 510123251, 511400021,
511900136(PB2.10f, 3.00, 3.10, 3.20, 3.50, PB/DLL v1.50,v2.00 or v5.00)

1) I wrote a lot of public mails in the last time, covering some
'features' of PowerBASIC. One mail of these I've sent directly to one
of your private addresses in your company. - No answer.

2) Then I wrote the same mail directly to Dave Navarro in this newsgroup
and I recieved a message, that he has recieved the first private mail
(and this again was NO CONCRETE ANSWER).

You see Bob (!), up to now I've never got any real statment of
yourcompany, that's very sad ...

Here's a mail of December about the same thread, I put into THREE
different newsgroups - no reaction came from cour company. Well
it describes the problem with the IDE a little bit better:

Hello Barry !!

> Thomas, What do you mean the editor destroys source when it Saves?
At first: I use PB/DOS, PB/DLL16 and PB/DLL32 for the same commercial
project. With a lot of PowerBASIC sources I can easily derive the 2
Windows Versions from the DOS version. By this I get three versions of
the same program and it works without greater problems. What I mean
is: One of my programs isn't the smallest one in size! And that is
where all problems begin with PowerBASIC/DLL v5.00 , or better
:(((((((((((.

> I know.... does what it says... but...
That's very simple. My first PB/DLL source (converted in 30 minutes
from PB/DLL16 to PB/DLL32) without all common include files was
already greater than 64k and that's the true reason for the bug. The
IDE of PB/DLL32 destroys a source file greater 64 K during a SAVE
action. That's so simple that I think the IDE of the PB/DLL v5.00
product was really never tested in detail by PowerBASIC Inc.

> I have never had that problem with the editor.
And a lot of German programmers do have similar problems. Some of them
(all of them are PowerBASIC gurus) are changing to other products now,
mostly to C++ or Visual C.

> It saves and saves, and I can bring in other source.
Test it with a longer source and you should come to the same opinion
:((.

> This is with the current one.
I talk about the September version which is sold here as the actual valid
version.

> The very first and limited one had a problem, or that was with one of
> those called a beta or something.
I saw this "cripple" version on the German PowerBASIC meeting in
August'97. :((((

That's the sad fact: It's not possible to make any serious project with
PB/DLL v5.00 and there are some additional simple bugs in the PB/DLL16 and
PB/DLL32 compilers ...
