The uniform is a lot easier they you seem to think.
Give me a picture of you in uniform and I could have a
copy in less then two weeks.
How many people on the street do you think could pick
out your badge and/or arm patch from six that were
close and six that were completely different? Now how
many do you think could with only a couple of seconds
to do it and them moving?
Heck, I'd be willing to bet that 50% of the people
could even describe the shape of either.

For you. . . maybe. For the person who only sees a cop
when he drives by in his car it is.
Not that long ago in Nashville they arrested a man who
had been WORKING as a police officer for a long time.
Over a year I think. He even had a part time partner.
He had a complete uniform and had been allowed to take
a squad car home overnight. I don't even remember how
they finally found out that he was not really a cop but
none of the people he worked with could believe it.

Most of the ones I'm talking about involve "no knock"
warrant types of entry where the door is kicked in and
four or five guys with POLICE on their caps and back of
their jackets bust in yelling "POLICE! EVERYBODY ON THE
FLOOR!"
But there have been several more subtly things. Such
as the guy who used blue lights, a badge and a "Smokey
Bear" hat to pull women over and rape them.
