-=> Quoting Pat Knox to Shauna Charron <=-
Hi Pat!
PK> Well, I have my Bargello skirt done (wearing it now), although I may
PK> have to tighten the elastic waistband a little bit more.
That's great - congratulations on finishing it! Was it made like a
quilt? I mean, did you have to use a lightweight batting and quilt
it too or just put a lining onto the back of the pieced part?
I saw a bargello wall hanging at the country fair last weekend.
Some ladies were there discussing how the quilt was put together.
They were not sewers as they were saying the quilter must have had
a special machine to set so it could do that fancy quilting. And
how long it must take to sew each square of fabric together.
Doesn't it make you chuckle when you know those secrets? :)
But I had to set them straight. No, the quilter did all that
meandering quilting on her own making up her own design. The
response - Really, but how could she do such a perfect job?
Practise, just lots and lots of practise. :):):)
As to sewing each square together, I couldn't let them in on
that secret
