SAS>>I have a bunch of 78 records and I am looking for anyone who may
SAS>>know how to value them.
The *vast* majority of 78s are skeet-targets, especially the big-band titles,
Irish tenors, and piano solos.
Look at them carefully. If they're gray and dull-looking, or are cracked or
have pieces chipped out of the edges, they're junk with *VERY* few
ceptions.
If they're in incomplete albums, they might have some minimal value to
omeone
else with an incomplete set. Classical sets can have some value, but not
many.
Most of the valuable 78s are from the 50s rather than earlier; blues, bop,
early R&B and R&R can command high prices, as can certain labels. In any
case, the primary determining factor is condition.
