 JJ> Hi IVY,

Hi, John;

 JJ> The OUTPUTS are Solid State.

GREAT! I was worried about how much it would add to the electric bill! :-]

 JJ> EACH BAND has it's own Preamp to
 JJ> the finals, and the finals are able to handle up to 30:1 VSWR.The last
 JJ> guy that tuned it for me Did the adjusts all wrong, and with a power
 JJ> meter and dummy load, you can retune each band to the correct
 JJ> operating output (200 CW in all Bands).

Hmmm... A relative power meter shouldn't be too hard to do, (FS meter
close to the dummy), but a 200W dummy might be difficult...

What kind of tool(s) is/are needed for the alignment, a small
screwdriver, nylon "diddle-sticks" like used for radio/TV alignment, or
something else?

 JJ> I just haven't had time to do anything with it, and at
 JJ> $50/hour for bench time, I wasn't going to have that guy spend 4 or 5
 JJ> hours on "fine  tuning".

Understandable!

 JJ> All of the instructions for doing the fine tune are in the Manual.

Shouldn't be any problem.

 JJ> And the Tuner needs the anti-backlash Spring Readjusted.

Shouldn't be much of a problem as long as I can get to the durn thing. :-}

 JJ> Check with your local repeater group. One or more members probably
 JJ> worked at one of the radio shops. Another resource, your local County
 JJ> Services Radio  Shop.

Thanks for the ideas. The locals that I have talked to on 2M don't know
anything about Dentrons... but I'll keep looking if I need help.

BTW, how big a footprint does it have? (I need to know how much space to
reserve for it on the desk).

Also, do you happen to have an old key lying around, (preferably one
with a shorting bar)? If so, how much do you want for it?

Please pack up that xcvr... I think I will be sending you a M.O. in the
next few days.  (Let the other bills get a month behind).   :-}

BTW, since I have a CSCE for General written and there will be another
VEC exam here in a couple of months, I think I'll try to get a study
book for advanced and see if I can skip General. :-]
