Hello Wayne, WC>Here using Doc's Place BBS I note a recent upturn in WC>the fidonews echo after it went virtually dead for a couple of weeks. WC>Has that moderator - sysop relented and lifted the feed cut or did you WC>relink? "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!" - The Wizard of Oz "Every sysop is encouraged to make this echo available to any user, that's interested in reading and writing in it." - Bjorn Felten, Moderator of the Fidonews echo "The Fidonews editor ... is the permanent moderator of this echo." - Bjorn Felten, Editor of the Fidonews newsletter, and the Permanent Moderator of the Fidonews echo In regards to the fidonews echo, any "moderator" other than Bjorn Felten should be ignored as they are nothing but pretenders to the throne. WC>Don't worry as I won't post to that echo from your BBS, nor WC>any others suggested to me by someone. It is up to each individual sysop whether to carry, or not to carry, the fidonews echo on his/her system. The same goes for any other echo, not just the fidonews echo. There are many BBSes throughout the world which carry the fidonews echo. BBS listings can easily be found by doing a search on the web. Most of those BBSes allow participants to read and write in that echo, paying no heed any pretender(s) to the throne. If you are having a problem reading and writing in the fidonews echo from docsplace, use a different BBS. Problem solved. WC>Fidonet is dying quite fast enough without my enabling WC>someone to speed its demise. Then get some fresh blood, inviting others to join in. WC>There are still a number of quality individuals posting in an ever WC>diminishing number of echos. With fresh blood, and new echoes, that could change. --Lee * SLMR 2.1a * Nothing is so smiple that it can't get screwed up. --- Maximus 3.01* Origin: Xaragmata / Adelaide SA telnet://xaragmata.mooo.com (3:800/432) SEEN-BY: 261/38 633/260 267 285 712/848 800/7 432 896 @PATH: 800/432 633/260 267 |
