PW>> TBAV does, if it recognises the virus.
KW> this is new... when did this start? i haven't checked out the last two
KW> or three releases of tbav... and i've certainly not seen any press
PW> I'm puzzled - TBAV always has done what I considered to be exact
PW> identification. For example,
PW> ===
PW> E:\MISC\VIR\INF\T\TEQUILA.EXE infected by Tequila.2468.A {1} virus
PW> ===
listing the variant information does not make it an exact
identification, tbav could simply have different scan strings for
different variants... perusal of the documentation shows no mention of
exact identification, nor any mention of an exact identification'ish
behaviour...
in fact, the documentation actually calls scan strings signatures...
when f-prot does it's exact identification it puts "(exact)" at the end,
when findvirus does it it says "identified" instead of "like"...
tbav may well do exact identification, but it gives no indication of it
in the scanning reports, nor does it mention it in the documentation -
so i have to draw the conclusion that it doesn't do it...
