  All that Visual C++ needs is a back door into DOS+Windows to let it
  run separate sessions and capture their output.  A VDD could well be
  written to acheive this using DosStartSession and some judicious use
  of named pipes.

  All that you need is for Microsoft to release the undocumented API
  in their VxD that Visual Workbench uses ...
