A creature called Ray Carlino screamed at Peter Fitzsimmons: > RC> Well I got the new visualage c++ 3.0 now all I need is > RC> a computer to run it on > RC> I have a pentium 60 with 24megs of ram and it crawls. > RC> What I need to know is > RC> will a faster cpu or more ram be the answer to more > RC> speed or is this just > RC> going to be slow? > Other reviews I had read say that everything is faster (than Cset++ 2.1), > except for one of the new tools -- Visual Builder. Is this the piece you > are complaining about? > (Still waiting for my copy...) RC> That is the part. It just drags my system down to it's RC> knees. during loading it takes approx. 2 mins to load and RC> to close and every time I move a box or try to open a menu RC> it takes a good 15 secs to redraw the screen. I was going to install VisualAge c++ 3.0 on my system at work the other day, until I found out the smallest I could make it was 186 megs. That's a bit much, I think. And if its slow on a p5-60 with 24 megs, I don't think it'll like my Model90 with 16 megs...
