In a message dated 06-24-95, Jorgen De Gier said to Stephen Lindholm: JG>Wait a minute, can you run VC++ 1.5 within Win-OS/2? I've JG>tried it and it would JG>compile anything because of a *.386 file that couldn't be JG>loaded in the system.ini. It has to compile plain Windows JG>Apps. There are several ways to run VC++ under Win-OS2. The best one yet I just came across a few days ago. It's called BUILD-O-RAMA and works using DDE between the WIN-OS2 session and a background DOS make. You just add it as another tool. It even positions you to the correct line in your source code on error messages. Just simply very nicely done. This now makes VC++ under OS/2 much nicer than running it under Win. There are also a number of free ways to do it but there you have to start another process once you do your build that will fail as you state. This is not a problem either but does require one more mouse click and the build messages go to the DOS session. ...Raetus ___ * MR/2 2.2 #179 * Drop your carrier, we have you surrounded! --- Maximus/2 2.02* Origin: OS/2 Shareware BBS, Fairfax, VA: 703-385-4325 (1:109/347) SEEN-BY: 105/42 620/243 711/401 409 410 413 430 807 808 809 934 955 712/407 SEEN-BY: 712/515 628 704 713/888 800/1 7877/2809 @PATH: 109/347 716 3615/50 396/1 270/101 105/103 42 712/515 711/808 809 934 |
