> I was wondering if there is an ANSI C function for findfirst(), Nope. ANSI doesn't discuss directories, mostly because they're so non-standard between platforms. (dos is limited to 8.3, with a "hidden file" attribute. Unix doesn't have a hidden file attribute, but DOES have a "write permission" and "execute permission" attribute, with filenames over 250 chars allowed. OS/2 has either 8.3 or 250+ filename length, and it has "extended" attributes.) I believe the posix standard mentions directories, but I don't know for sure. I'm not even going to MENTION MVS, because I don't understand it.
