OS/2 itself is not GUI based.

You haven't tried running with SET RUNWORKPLACE= and/or PROTSHELL= REMmed out
or set to CMD.EXE? I haven't tried this, but I know you can do this. The WPS
is as much an application as any GUI on Linux.
