GD>If the gang members are loitering on a street corner and selling
GD>drugs out in the open, then call the police. The police can take
GD>all the information over the phone, and they won't do anything to
GD>you.
SK> I don't believe in drug laws.
Then you should have no problems with gang members.
After all they don't believe in drug laws or mugging
laws or rape laws or murder laws.
You should also not have any problems with the KKK
ignoring the civil rights laws or even Ted
Kazcinski after all he didn't believe in several
laws.
After all if you are free to just ignore the laws you
don't like then shouldn't everyone else?
SK> I worry about the police...not the drug dealers.
I worry about both but the dealers have a major
tendency of shooting everyone in sight when the spam
hits the fan. The cops tend to at least aim.
SK> The drug laws have taken more of peoples money, more of
SK> peoples property, more of peoples freedom, and MORE LIVES
SK> than drugs.
Then change them.
SK> Drug laws are the problem.
Really? Have you ever read the history when opium was
not regulated? An entire war was caused by opium and
its use.
Have you ever known someone who was a true addict?
Someone who couldn't work because he was either high,
needing to get high or suffering the effects of coming
down? The drug could be a narcotic or alcohol.
Have you ever seen what happens when a drunk/high
person hits the back of a car or heaven forbid a bus?
Personally I have no problem with someone doing almost
anything themselves in their own home but the use of
drugs NEVER says in the home.
SK> Laws that take freedom are the problem.
Agreed to a point.
SK> If there isn't a victim there isn't a crime.
Not true. The government has a responsibility to
protect society as a whole. In some crimes the society
is the victim. An example would be speeding. If you
don't have a wreck that injures someone else then there
is no victim in your way of thinking.
SK> Ollie North and Reagan used the drug laws to sell crack to
SK> the black communities and transfer funds to the
Yeah right. Even the people who started this story
admitted that they had nothing to back it up but a few
rumors from "unreliable" sources and that it was
probably not true.
Although there is quite a bit of evidence that the CIA
did help export drugs from SWA during the 60s.
SK> Contra's...just as Ollie sold weapon's that killed our OWN
SK> people on our OWN naval vessels. Drugs are the money line
And Confederate soldiers killed Yankees with Yankee
weapons and Americas were killed with American weapons
during WWI and WWII and Korea and. . . But the reverse
is true also. Such are the fortunes of war (and
military service).
SK> of the government to support illegal actions around the
Except for the CIA reference above there has never been
even the smallest amount of evidence showing the US
government has used drug money to support overt, covert
or even black (that's black as in dark not black as in
a race) ops.
SK> biggest drug dealers! But, NO...bust the penny-anty street
SK> punks. Bull-Crap!
The "penny-anty street punks" are good targets for
several reasons; they are the most visible, they are
the easiest to catch, they are the most violent and
they can lead to bigger fish.
SK> The Chief gets bought off by the biggest dealer's and the
I have never heard about it being hinted, with some
good sources, of any chief in a major or semi major
city being influenced by drug money.
SK> street cops bust the dealers that don't pay their
SK> protection money.
Sure this happens some times but nowhere near as much
today as yesteryear. It wasn't THAT long ago that
people had to pay the 'mob' and the cops to do
business. It doesn't happen much and when it does it
is easy to catch. Unless you really, REALLY know what
you are doing hiding money is tough!
One thing you have to think about is the fact that once
the cop takes money he is on just as big of a hook as
the crook. One call to the state police, FBI or even a
local TV station would be all it would take for him to
wind up in the same jail he was sending all of the none
payers to.
                      Remember: Freedom isn't Free!
