  Andy,
       RYRYRYRYRYRYRYRYRYRY mean "Ready". The quick brown fox routine is
  an old type tutor since it includes every letter in the alphabet.
  Stations you this string at the begginng of a transmission to
  calibrate their sending equipment and tune up transmitters. They are
  also used as a test tape that runs for a while so other adjustments
  are made. It also indicates to the receiver that the transmission is
  ready to proceed.
