that will likely remain as many are on dialup connections and unless
fidonet also sets up a ddns, there's few ways for one to have a static
domain name for a dynamic dialup...

on the ddns side, i don't know how the others do it but i do have the specs
and such for dynip.com's method... at least as far as what the ddns update
client is required to do...
