-=-=ANNOUNCEMENT!!=-=-=-=-=ANNOUNCEMENT!!=-=-=-=-=ANNOUNCEMENT!!=-=-
I am now accepting entries for a chess tournament currently called "FIDO
FALL 1996 TOURNEY". This event is open to players from both CHESS and
CHESS_TOURNEY echoes and is tenatively scheduled to begin 15 Nov 96. Those
who are interested in competing should get word to me no later than 1 Nov
96. I can be reached at the following:
Fidonet -- 1:356/4.27 -=or=-
E-mail -- bruce.moon{at}thegate.hotlin.fidonet.org -=or=-
E-mail -- bamoon{at}ucinet.com
Competitors SHOULD be able to send and receive Netmail. (If you're not sure
what Netmail is, or don't know whether you can use it, or need to arrange
for it, now would be a good time to talk to your local BBS Sysop about it.)
If you have an E-mail address, you might want include it when you register.
Exact format will depend the number of entries, but it likely that there
will be 4-, 5-, or 6-player sections, which will be single- or double-RR.
Questions may be sent to me at the above addresses. This announcement will
be posted every week with additional details appended as they develop (such
as how many entries).
UPDATE 25 Sep 96: Owing to some Fido problems at my end, the original of this
announcement was only seen by a relative handful of people, so I am
postponing the tournament starting date until 15 Nov 96, and the cutoff date
for registration to 1 Nov 96. Only one entry has been received thus far.
Later,
Bruce Moon
