NO!! Don't do it!!!
JB> Is this a good scanner, the 26, and is it worth the trade?

The 60 is a GRE product....the lineage of the PRO-2004/5/6,35/42 desktop
models and the 34/37/43/60/64 handhelds....there are others, but these are
the most well known and liked of the GRE made RadioShack scanners over the
years.
The 26 is made by Uniden...as Bill Cheek would say...lots o' sizzle, not
much steak.
The 26 will cover a few bands that the 60 does not, but in my humble
opinion, the 60 is a MUCH better performer. I have a PRO-43 (forerunner of
the 60) and a 60....both work wonderfully, and except for needing the keypad
to be replaced in the 43 that is about 5 years old it's "taken a licking and
kept on ticking..." GRE just makes an outstanding product and it isn't as
prone to intermod as the 26 is...
I'd seriously looked at purchasing a 26 for the expanded receive, but
decided:
a: not for the money
b: it isn't as "sturdy" and it seems to desense a little easier
c: the "DATA" feature is neat, but doesn't really work that well.
Also ask yourself, "Why does somebody want to trade a 26 for a 60?!?!?"
Just my thoughts
Jonathan :)
