Ref: your mail dated Feb 25th - subj: "Re: PB/DLL "Edit" v5.00 d":
Hello Bob,
You wrote to *Thomas Gohel:*
BZ> My earlier reply inadvertantly sounded a whole lot more "aggressive"
BZ> than I had actually intended (it was 3:00 am), not to mention that a
BZ> {smile} caption was filtered out, too.* Sorry.
I appreciate this comment of yours, your previous mail was harsh!
Nevertheless, we here in Germany are surprised about the way, our
comments concerning PB compilers have been treated in the last
half year. I kept myself in the background until now, so I should
introduce myself:
I am a "Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering" and run my
own R&D office as a freelance. I program Industrial Measurement
Systems since lots of years. - I know Thomas Gohel personally and
informed Joseph Kirschbaum about this mail today by phone.
(Maybe you know me from my TSR tool PQSYNTAX - coloured syntax
highlighting for the editors of PB or QB, written in ASM and C,
very fast, lots of congratulations came from all over the world -
but not any comment arrived from PB Inc.!)
Concerning the PowerBASIC fans there is a bigger group of commercial
users here, however, in the smaller group of hobby programmers you
find some very good ones, too,
*and Thomas Gohel certainly is one of that excellent programmers*
He had put much energy and effort to activate and moderate the
Fido areas BASIC.GER and POWERBASIC.GER and has pushed forward an
own BASIC file network named BDN (Basic Developers Network).
Unfortunately Thomas had the chance to learn the English Language
only rather late; and although he made a huge progress in doing
this, he has not yet the technical vocabulary to explain certain
problems enough in detail. Thus, in contradiction to his engagement
for PB, he was misunderstood, especially with respect to his
English version of our German PBFAQ (parts of it were written by
myself).
I think you and Dave Navarro should more rely on the positive
motivation of Thomas even if he took one paragraph in his PBFAQ to
describe PB compiler errors. How, if not by deep practical
experience would someone be able to do this?
We should make better friends in the future and forget the mail
struggles of the past !! - I try to contribute to this by
dedicating my very special program WIN95SPY.BAS to you, Bob. See
the corresponding 3 mails of mine :-))))
BZ> Regardless, if you will email me very specific instructions and a sample
BZ> text file, we'll either correct it or show you your problem.* But
BZ> without your help, we really can't do anything to help as we see no
BZ> error at all here.* Thanks.

I'll detail this in the next mail
