BS>> Thanks - it all worked great!

RS> "thank-you messages" are
DM> off-topic, the moderator (Tom) or the zone's co-

RS> IMHO - a thank you for a Snippets submission is a little different

Note the smiley. I think Bob caught it (though he pretended not to for the
first half of his message), but didn't seem to be caught here. I am *not*
second-guessing the moderators, the usefulness of Bob's message, or any of
the above. I was merely poking fun at an ex-moderator who has, many times,
expressed how off-topic his own message (almost) was. :-)
RS> And, besides. Bob's been here since dirt and he's a major
RS> contributor. If that don't get you a little leeway, then I'd like
RS> to know what does.
Being a very black-n-white person, I'm not one to give leeway. I grant
thateveryone has the right to a mistake (or two ... dozen), but the guru-ness
of the person has nothing to do with this (having seen you and I catch Bob,
Auke, et al, in a few odd mistakes in their code, for example).
The only positive point in this fun-poking is that I can better understand
why a new person wants to write a "Thanks - it all worked great!" (and thus
off-topic) message... when those who have enforced the rule for years will
still succumb to the pressure. ;-) Only makes me want to give more leeway
to the newbies, not the major contributors.
RS> ... I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
Hmmm... sounds like me. :-) Here's one for ya (suits me to a 'T'):
... The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
