I see that you KNOW what you are talking about... been there, done that,
likely on the other side of the table... 1987, over the bars, took out the
whole left front of the Bell V1 Pro (good for those days)... plus a lot of
the normal woke up after a bit.. went home, woke up again in ER enroute to
the surgery... but got of lightly to ride again... Still have poor memory,
lousy thermal regulation (always did prefer colder weather anyhow.) and
some other things, mostly now as good as they will get...
I for one never thought helmets a bad idea... and always wear one now, then

for that matter... but not for the first 26 years I rode... however there

not any available during that time. I'm not to crazy about 'helmet laws'

are forced on people... especially the usual kind that don't apply to most of
the cycling that goes on... Ontario, and the newer BC rules only apply on

and such areas as deemed covered by local bylaw... but generally don't apply
mountain bikes off road, playgrounds, even sidewalks unless covered by local
municipal bylaws... Helmet law seems to serve only to get the matter into
discussions and thus into public awareness... and that is all it will do,

driving (car and bike) etc.
