But EMX is not the compiler, it is the environment it uses. GCC/EMX is the compiler.
 
EMX itself is an environment for creating OS/2 and DOS 32-bit programs and
to make it easier to port UNIX software. 
It is similar to ixemul for AmigaOS in that respect (the UNIX porting part,
that is..;))
