Hi, Pat!
PK>Your block arrived today and it is just gorgeous!! You definitely must
have
PK>a great stash!! Thank you sooo much!
^^^^^^^^^^^
Thanks to *you* for putting together the FFQBE! Some of the fabrics
were what I shared with others; other fabrics were what I received
for my b.day. The background fabric is one. The star centers are
from the FQ you sent me 2 years ago. (Check Doris' Jacob's Ladder: I
used it for hers, too.) Now, knowing how I feel about purple, would
you believe I almost couldn't find enough purples for this block??!
PK>This one is just absolutely fabulous!!
Thanks, Pat. I'm going to get a crick in my neck from having
my head turned, ya know. :) But, I must admit, there is another
Friendship Star I like even better than yours. The first one I made
was Doris' mini: I liked the way it sparkled. I decided to make the
big one like yours for Shauna but I made each star a different color.
I *really* like the way *that* one sparkled. So did Mike: he asked
why I always send out the ones he really likes. (I haven't shown him
my box of duplicates lately!) ;)
PK>As for the purple project, nothing is
PK>decided yet. I love purple and decided that I want to do a purple quilt,
but
I did my purple project! It was a "discipline" thang: I forced myself
to use up some of the scraps & smaller pieces I have (had, I should
say.) I did a Triple Irish Chain in purples & machine-embroidered
floral wreaths on the white alternate blocks. The thing hung on my
makeshift design wall in the dining room (a piece of felt tacked
along the top of 2 side-by-side cabinets) until I took it down before
it stretched out of shape! I still haven't decided what to do about
borders: I'm debating between a Seminole-type or a border of minis.
That will be my maybe-September project - after the school clothes
are finished & before the Christmas sewing starts. :)
PK>Where did the time go?
You're askin' ME?? It's the end of July already! I have to make a
dress for my niece - she admired one that I made for Irene a couple
years ago & I promised her I'd make her one before she starts off to
K.garten. I think what she liked was the pearl bead trim around the
neckline. I haven't been able to find anything quite like it yet, but
I still have a little time. I still have one jumper I'm determined to
make for myself, then have to get Irene's clothes started. My friend
commented that with all the sewing I do, Irene should have plenty of
school clothes. I said yes, she did, but she outgrew them & passed
them on to the friend's daughter! Best get to work - I'm about to
lose a week of precious sewing time! Happy therapy! - Kathy
