Hey Carol!

CS> There's a couple of others who are as well.

I am aware of one other who happens to be Russian as well. The only other
utf-8 compatible system I've seen happens to be run by an Aussie but he is
deploying nntp which from this angle has been abandonware for about a decade
now. Speaking for myself I've never been a fan of nntp and prefer to keep it
more Fidonetish if at all possible. I honestly believe I've done a very good
job of it ... so far. I can say the same for the two Russians I am aware of,
Alexey being one of them, except they appear to be more into web crap whereas I
am a purely textual (no html tags and the such) freak.

CS> It's pretty much an automated point setup.

Ah! I've got something like that going here. Not really all that automated
though other than the main poster calling itself 'Guy Robot'. Currently I have
to tweak it to actually post and is now running on a remote abandoned eeepc. I
did have it running on the wireless mesh network but one of my neighbours
needed it on hostapd so that he could get online with his iPad. Unfortunetly
iPads are really lame when it comes to configuring them to do anything
meaningful on wireless connections. WHAT?!?!?! No app for Fidonet?

Kids these days, eh? ;-)

Life is good,
Maurice

... Don't cry for me I have vi.
